The cooperation agreement was signed by ITI head Heba Salih and Matt Britten, President of Google, for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The signing took place via video conference, and was witnessed by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat.
The two ministers discussed ways to enhance Egyptian-French cooperation in a number of communications and information technology (CIT) fields. The talks focused particularly on capacity building, providing support for entrepreneurship, as well as research and development in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
Talaat pointed out that an ambitious programme for capacity-building has been launched with the aim of providing knowledge of artificial intelligence to all segments of society. As part of this, a comprehensive programme will be launched to educate all government employees on the uses of AI, to make government operations more efficient and transparent.
