These debts are estimated at EGP 13.5bn, with their settlement coming in light of the government’s efforts to settle and repay the accumulated historical debts of that sector.
The report added that, of this amount, 1,233, or 88%, were male, and 155 (or 11.2%) were female, with the rise attributed to the increase in investment projects in Egypt. The 2019 figures show a significant increase on 2018, when 975 foreign employees were reported in these sectors.
