Hong said that Egypt’s travel advisory level for Korean citizens was lowered last August for the first time in eight years, and therefore it is expected that the number of Korean tourists to Egypt will increase in the coming period, adding that he is looking forward to continuing discussions with the Egyptian side on people to people exchange between the two countries, including strengthening security measures to ensure the safety of tourists.

The event is part of a public diplomacy programme that aims to reach out to Egyptian people and listen to their creative and insightful thoughts and ideas on developing the two countries’ bilateral relations in various fields, such as education, people-to-people exchanges, economy, cultural exchanges, environment, climate change, women’s empowerment, etc.
Ambassador Hong had a tour at the agency’s facilities, which included a visit to the AIT building and the agency’s laboratories, in addition to the space city and the headquarters of the African Space Agency currently under construction.
