New Zealand Defense Minister participates in opening ceremony for CCCPA training on Gender-Responsive Peace Operations for Arab Peacekeepers

As part of his official visit to Egypt, New Zealand’s Minister of Defence Peeni Henare inaugurated the training with CCCPA Director-General Ahmed Abdel Latif, New Zealand’s Ambassador in Cairo Greg Lewis, UNDP Egypt Deputy Resident Representative Sylvain Merlen, along with high-level representatives from the Egyptian Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defence, and Interior.

CCCPA holds training course on transnational threats in African Sahel

In his opening remarks, Director General of the CCCPA Ahmed Abdel Latif indicated that the training comes within the framework of the centre’s various capacity building activities to strengthen peace and security in Africa, including combating human trafficking and the smuggling of migrants. He also expressed his appreciation for the Swiss government’s support of the centre’s programme in this regard.

CCCPA holds preparatory meetings for 3rd Aswan Forum

The event included a workshop on addressing terrorism from an African perspective, and a workshop on forced displacement and sustainable peace in Africa, to discuss ways to address the challenges facing the African continent in these areas and consider innovative long-term measures and solutions that can contribute to addressing them.
