A report was released by the Alexandria Port Authority stating that the Lebanese cargo ship ‘AYLA’ sank while sailing from Libya to Alexandria, carrying a crew of 10 members, including nine Syrians and one Indian.
Ship’s crew consists of 11 people of different nationalities, including 7 from India
Egypt stressed that such terrorist acts pose a real threat to freedom of navigation and safety in the Red Sea and are a flagrant violation of the norms of international law, calling for the immediate release of the vessel.
