According to a statement by the ministry, Shoukry — who is also the President-Designate of the upcoming UN Conference of Parties on Climate Change (COP27) — started off the meeting by conveying the congratulations of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to the Kenyan president on assuming the functions of coordinator of this committee, which the continent relies on to strengthen African action in terms of climate change.
