FM Shoukry highlights repercussions of climate change during AOSIS meeting

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, said that Shoukry stressed that COP27 will focus on the repercussions of climate change. He added that Egypt is aware of the increasing damage caused to developing countries as a result of climate change; storms, hurricanes, floods, and drought, which lead to serious human and economic losses.

Egypt seeks to achieve balanced results in international climate action: FM

According to a statement by the ministry, Shoukry — who is also the President-Designate of the upcoming UN Conference of Parties on Climate Change (COP27) — was keen to review the vision and priorities of the Egyptian presidency of the COP27, as it seeks to achieve balanced results at all levels of international climate action, especially adaptive measures to climate change, mitigation of its consequences, and the provision of climate finance.
