The British Book Awards announced the launching of new awards targeting children’s books and audiobooks in its new edition in 2022. The awards ceremony will be held on 23 May.

With the return of the Grand Prix for the book industry in Britain, the Bookseller of the Year Award will also return. The award is given out in recognition of the vital role that booksellers continue to play.

This is in addition to the Designer of the Year Award, dedicated to the best book designer, and the Début, Fiction, Non-fiction Lifestyle, Non-fiction Narrative, Crime & Thriller, and Book of the Year Awards in general.

There will also be the Author of the Year and Illustrator of the Year Awards, won last year by Richard Osman and Charlie McKeese, respectively.
