Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry phoned, on Friday, his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra and Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita.

Ahmed Hafez, the spokesperson for Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Shoukry discussed, during the phone calls, the recent developments in the relations between Algeria and Morocco.

He discussed ways to find diplomatic solutions to the outstanding issues between them.

Last week, Algeria cut diplomatic relations with Morocco, citing what it called hostile actions by its most populous neighbour with which it has had strained relations for decades.

Shoukry noted that the two countries play a pivotal role in strengthening the joint Arab action in its various mechanisms.
