Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said the draft law on cancelling fines on tax payment delay, which was approved recently by the cabinet, offered more facilities to help economic sectors face the coronavirus repercussions.

Maait explained that the new facilities would exempt those who pay their overdue taxes of different kinds from any delay fines by up to 90% if they paid within 60 days from the date of issuing the law, 70% if they paid in the following 60 days, and 50% if they paid in the following 60 days.

Full exemption will be granted to those who make full payment of their overdue taxes before the law is issued.
