“The disease is real, and its symptoms are real, but people recovered from it,” Allam wrote, adding that if people are committed enough, they will be out of danger and reach full recovery.

Allam added that healthcare workers face the risk of contracting the coronavirus, but will continue doing their duty until the crisis has come to an end.

On Tuesday, Egypt’s Pharmacists Syndicate mourned the death of a pharmacist, who had been working at the Arab Contractors Medical Centre, from the coronavirus.

The Medical Syndicate has confirmed that there have been a total of 43 coronavirus infections among doctors, with three deaths reported.

The Medical Syndicate called on the cabinet to apply Law No.16 of 2018 to medical professionals who were infected or have died from the infection. The law had originally been established to honour security and military martyrs or casualties.
