Prime Minister and Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly said President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has instructed that all red brick buildings must be painted with unified colours within a set timetable otherwise the government shall take legal action against all violators.

Madbouly described the red brick facades spread across the country as “uncivilised.”

The prime minister ordered governors to begin the implementation of this decision over several phases, pointing out that there will be periodic follow-ups to ensure the progress of the process, adding, “this happens in all countries of the world.”

Meanwhile, the prime minister also instructed governors to accelerate land legalisation cases and deal firmly with violators.

Furthermore, Madbouly also authorised governors to deal with disputes regarding state-owned lands, as well as threatened buildings.
