One person was killed and another injured when a bomb went off on Gesr Suez Street, also known as Suez Bridge, in Heliopolis on Friday.

The bomb reportedly detonated near a security presence.

No other casualties have been reported thus far.

Bomb experts arrived to the scene and the area was cordoned off by security.
