A third policeman has died, raising the death toll to three on Wednesday following an armed attack on police officers in Menoufeya.

According to local media reports, police conscript Ahmed Salem, 20, died as a result of his injury while in intensive care.

Two police officers were killed, and three other police officers and two citizens were injured  in an attack on Sunday morning that targeted a security checkpoint in Menoufiya governorate. The attack took place at Al-Agizy checkpoint in Al-Sadat city when unidentified assailants opened fire at the security personnel.
