Egyptian players are main attraction at 2016 Allam British Open Squash Championship

El-Shorbagy made it to the finals after defeating his compatriot Karim Abdel Gawad with scores of 11-8, 11-7, 11-7 and a final score of 3-0


The 2016 Allam British Open Squash Championship’s finals will feature four of Egypt’s premier squash players. Mohamed El-Shorbagy and Ramy Ashour will compete in the men’s final and Nouran Gohar and Nour El-Sherbini will go head-to-head in the women’s final.

El-Shorbagy made it to the finals after defeating his compatriot Karim Abdel Gawad with scores of 11-8, 11-7, 11-7 and a final score of 3-0.

Ashour, who just recently recovered from an injury, made it to the final after defeating France’s Grégory Gaultier, with scores of 11-6, 12-10, 8-11, 9-11, 11-7, and a final score of 3-2.

Moving to the women’s final, Egyptian Nouran Gohar will compete for the top prize against Nour El-Sherbini.

Gohar, who is the second youngest women’s finalist for the Allam British Open, surprised the audience after winning against France’s Camille Serme, with scores of 10-12, 9-11, 11-9, 11-9, 9-11, and a final score of 3-2.

After defeating the Malaysian squash champion Nicol David with scores of 11-6, 2-11, 11-9, 11-6, and a final score of 3-1, El-Sherbini also made it to the final.
