Egyptian universities comes in the bottom of the top 15 universities in the Arab world list

Suez Canal University came in tenth in list, followed by Alexandria University in eleventh and Cairo University in twelfth


 

Based on data from the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016, Egypt made the list with three universities in the bottom half of the list of the top 15 universities in the Arab world. Suez Canal University came in tenth place in the list, followed by Alexandria University in eleventh and Cairo University in twelfth.

Saudi Arabia is the top performer in the list of the Arab world, with three institutions in the top five including King Abdulaziz University in first place, according to The Times Higher Education.

Mohammed V University of Rabat, Morocco came in last place at fifteenth. Eight countries in total are represented in the top 15 including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, Lebanon, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Jordan.

Times Higher Education World University Rankings editor Phil Baty said the top 15 ranking is just a snapshot to stimulate wider discussions about the most appropriate metrics for ranking the region’s universities.
