Apple is world’s most valuable brand at $170.3bn

Samsung comes in fifth, valued at $45.2bn

US tech brand Apple topped Interbrand’s ranking of the world’s most valuable brands in terms of market value. The brand’s worth was estimated at over $170.3bn.

Google came in second place and was valued at $120.3bn.

US technology giant Microsoft came in third place, estimated at $67.6bn. In fourth place was IBM, valued at $65bn.

In fifth place is the Korean Samsung. Its market value was estimated at about $45.2bn. Leading electronic shopping brand, Amazon, came in sixth place at $37.9bn. Intel was ranked seventh with a market value of $35.4bn.

Cisco, with a market value of $29.4bn, came in eighth, followed by Oracle in ninth place, valued at $27.2bn.

HP ranked 10th on Interbrand’s list, and was valued at $23.1bn. Facebook was valued at $22bn, and was ranked 11th. SAP SE came in 12th place, with a market value of $18.7bn.

The American eBay was valued at $13.9bn and came in 13th place, followed by Siemens and Sony, which occupied the 14th and 15th place, valued at $8.5bn and $7.7bn respectively.

Interbrand’s report took into account several variables, including company revenues, profit margins, brand value, their branches, size of investment, number of countries they operate in, and the size of employees.
