A fire broke out at Agouza Police Station Friday evening leaving no casualties, state media reported.

The preliminary investigations showed that the fire started inside the room where the evidence is kept in the police station.

None of the police officers or the prisoners were injured; however the police station was evacuated as a precautionary measure.

A Ministry of Interior press office representative told Daily News Egypt that the incident was “accidental”, but did not elaborate on what caused the fire.
