The Ministry of Tourism’s decision to exempt Russian tourists from visa fees will end this April and will not be extended, according to Minister of Tourism Khaled Rami.

In mid-January, the Ministry of Tourism decided to exempt Russian tourists from visa fees until the end of April, with fees for Russian tourists amounting to $25.

The number of tourists from Russia last year made up to 3.2 million tourists, compared to 2.4 million the year before.

In an interview with Daily News Egypt, Rami said that Russian tourism declined by 20% in the first quarter of this year due to the rouble exchange rate drop compared to dollar.
