Egypt renews warning against travel to Libya

Two Egyptian workers were killed Saturday in a rocket attack


The Foreign Ministry has renewed Sunday calls for Egyptians to avoid travel to Libya, in the wake of the current political turmoil the country is witnessing

The ministry also advised expatriates to keep away from territories where clashes are taking place, according to a Sunday statement.

Similarly the statement asked Egyptian truck drivers to  follow previous instructions which entails not passing the western side of the city of Tobruk.

Rival militias in Libya have been battling for territories and  control, leaving scores dead and wounded.

Two Egyptian workers were killed and four others were injured when a rocket hit a bakery in Benghazi on Saturday.

Thousands of people have fled the country since the summer, including hundreds of Egyptian nationals who were evacuated with the help of the Egyptian foreign ministry.

Egypt has been actively participating in diplomatic missions to support the current Libya government and state institutions, as well as securing a safe exist for Egyptian citizens  to return.
