Normal traffic resumed in Tahrir Square in Downtown Cairo on Tuesday after being blocked for several weeks because of ongoing protests. The ubiquitous military armoured personnel carriers had left the square and its side streets, with only one remaining APC stationed in front of the Egyptian Museum.  Several traffic police directed the new swarm of cars and motorcycles, while coils of barbed wire lay on the sidewalks near where barricades once stood.
