Presidential adviser Pakinam El-Sharkawy warned against the repercussions of protesting against President Mohamed Morsi.

Opposition movements are planning nationwide protests on 30 June calling for early presidential elections.

In a personal tweet posted on Friday, El-Sharkawy said that revolutions and politics are compliments to each other. However she said each comes at its own time and instability is guaranteed if protests and electoral politics are enforced at the same time.

“The president is chosen through the ballot box,” she said. “The people should keep the elected president accountable but also granted him time [to implement policies], otherwise we will live in a state without a leader.”

Meanwhile Yousry Hammad, a leading Al-Watan Party figure, said on his Facebook page that it is important to oppose the president and correct his path, but it is unacceptable to protest demanding the ousting of an elected president.

The Tamarod movement, along with several opposition groups, are organising mass protests on 30 June, one year after President Morsi’s inauguration, to demand his removal and call for early presidential elections.
