Wael Al-Ma’dawi, Egypt’s minister of civil aviation, said he concluded a meeting with the presidents of a number of private airline companies to discuss plans to update their company infrastructures to comply with both Egyptian civil aviation authorities and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

The goal of the meeting was to hear the demands of all parties involved and to listen to different opinions as to how best to overcome the industry’s challenges in a way that preserves the interests of EgyptAir.

Al-Ma’dawi said he was working to meet the demands of all companies present while applying appropriate standards for airline travel.

A number of company presidents proposed a series of suggestions regarding how best to coordinate and organise air traffic, at a time when companies have been suffering heavy losses as a result of a slowdown in ticket sales.
