Egypt 182-day, 91-day T-bills average yield dip

The average yield on Egyptian 182-day Treasury bills fell a fraction to 9.487 percent at an auction on Sunday versus 9.556 percent at last week’s auction, the Central Bank said.

The central bank accepted bids worth LE 2 billion ($351 million), the same amount that it was seeking.

It accepted bids at rates between 9.2 and 9.52 percent versus 9.45-9.617 percent at the previous auction. The bills are for issue on Oct 19 and mature on April 19, 2011.

On the same day, the average yield on Egyptian 91-day Treasury bills dipped to 8.823 percent at an auction versus 8.916 percent last week, the Central Bank said.

The central bank accepted bids for bills worth LE 1 billion Egyptian pounds ($175 million), the same amount it was seeking.

It accepted bids at rates of between 8.75 percent and 8.939 percent versus 8.801-8.964 percent at the previous auction.

The bills are for issue on Oct. 19 and mature on Jan. 18, 2011.
