CAIRO: The average yield on Egyptian 364-day treasury bills rose to 10.542 percent at an auction on Thursday, compared with 10.293 percent at the last auction on April 8.

The central bank said it asked for bids for bills worth LE 3 billion ($539 million), but accepted bids worth LE 1.5 billion.

It accepted bids at rates between 10.2 and 10.589 percent, versus 10.2 to 10.34 percent at the previous auction, the bank said. The bills are for issue on May 11 and they mature on May 10, 2011.
