Egypt 182-day, 91-day T-bills average yield rises

The average yield on Egyptian 182-day Treasury bills rose to 10.306 percent at an auction on Sunday from 10.196 percent at last week’s auction.

The central bank accepted bids worth LE 2 billion ($360 million), the same amount it was seeking.

It accepted bids at rates between 10.101 and 10.351 percent compared to a range of 9.999 to 10.32 percent at the previous auction. The bills are for issue on May 4 and mature on Nov. 2, 2010.

On the same day, the average yield on Egyptian 91-day Treasury bills was 9.936 percent at an auction, compared with 9.743 percent at last week’s auction.

The central bank accepted bids for bills worth LE 1 billion ($180 million), the same amount it was seeking.

It accepted bids at rates between 9.8 and 10.019 percent, compared with 9.501 and 9.952 percent at the previous auction.

The bills are for issue on May 4 and mature on Aug. 3
