2012 African Cup hosts to ease visa restrictions

LUANDA: Gabon and Equatorial Guinea will waive tough immigration restrictions and adopt a joint visa when they co-host the next African Cup of Nations in 2012.

The tournament will be played in the Equatorial Guinean cities of Malobo and Bata along with Gabonese cities Libreville and Franceville.

A new stadium is being built in Libreville.

The two oil-rich nations said in a statement Wednesday that everything that needs to be done will be done.

Libya will host the African Cup in 2014.

Angola is hosting the 2010 edition of the tournament with Ghana due to face Nigeria in the semifinals Thursday, while Egypt plays Algeria. -AP
