CAIRO: Harras Hodoud extended their winless streak to four games after being held to a goalless draw by Ghazl Mahalla on Saturday, few days after their coach Tarek Al-Ashri decided to remain at the helm.

A poor run of results prompted Al-Ashri to hand in his resignation last Tuesday but he made a U-turn over his decision two days later after the club s board promised him to reinforce the team s squad in January.

Hodoud lacked creativity at Mahalla, struggling to create clear-cut chances despite the presence of Egyptian international forward Ahmed Eid and talented playmaker Abdul-Salam Nagah.

The draw leaves Hodoud, Egyptian Cup winners last season, languishing in 12th place with 17 points, one behind Mahalla and five above the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, in-form Ittihad shared honors with ENPPI in a 1-1 draw.

Egypt winger Ahmed Al-Mohammadi put ENPPI in front in the 29th minute after converting a penalty, but Ittihad striker Mohamed Ragab headed home six minutes before the break to secure a share of spoils.

Ittihad, who extended their unbeaten run under Brazilian coach Carlos Cabral to nine matches, lie seventh on 20 points. ENPPI are fifth with 21 points.
