CAIRO: Hosts Egypt claimed their third successive win in the Men s Junior World Championship after defeating Kuwait 32-23 on Saturday.

The Pharaohs ended the first period with a 15-11 lead over Kuwait before extending the gap after the interval to seal an easy win.

Egypt coach Assem Al-Saadani played with a second-string side in the second half in a bid to rest his regulars ahead of the remaining first-round games against Germany and Qatar.

The 1993 Junior World Championship winners beat Iceland and Argentina in their first two games.

They are on top of Group A with six points, two ahead of Germany and Argentina, who are second and third respectively.
