CAIRO: Zamalek defender Amr Al-Safti has been penalized by the club for “skipping training without permission , the Cairo giants said.

After being left out of Wednesday s league finale with Police Union, Al-Safti is facing an imminent fine.

He will be fined according to our regulations, Zamalek assistant coach Sami Al-Sheshini told the club s official site.

Al-Safti, who joined Zamalek from Masri three years ago, has lost his place in the White Knights backline in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Al-Safti was quick to make an excuse for his absence from Monday s training session and said that he accepts the decision of his club.

I couldn’t attend Monday s training because my wife was ill, and I had no time to inform anyone of my absence, he told FilGoal.com.

I was always present in training this year, but yesterday it was out of my hands. Anyways I accept the decision.
