CAIRO: The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) are considering calling off the national s team friendly game against Oman.

The Pharaohs are scheduled to face Oman on May 31 as they prepare for next month s crunch meeting against Algeria in the World Cup qualifiers.

However, Ahly s participation in the CAF Confederation Cup cast doubt on the international friendly.

The Red Devils, who will play in Africa s secondary competition after being eliminated from the Champions League, are likely to meet Angola s Santos FC late May.

The contradiction between Ahly s African fixture and Egypt s friendly game, which is not included in FIFA s international match calendar, left the EFA on the horns of a dilemma.

The wounded Ahly are highly unlikely to release their international players, who form the backbone of Egypt s squad.

The EFA competitions committee will convene on Sunday to make a final decision over the matter.
