CAIRO: Arab Contractors have fined Reda Al-Weeshi LE 20,000 after he protested against coach Mohamed Radwan s decision to substitute him during a league match.

The striker made no secret of his frustration after being replaced in Contractors 1-0 victory over Asyut Petroleum on Friday.

Al-Weeshi s reaction did not go down well with the club s board, who decided to penalize him.

We had to fine the player to maintain discipline within the team, Radwan told FilGoal.com on Wednesday.

Al-Weeshi is a polite guy but he shouldn t have reacted this way.

The 23-year-old joined The Mountain Wolves last summer after failing to establish himself as a regular first-team player at Ahly.

Al-Weeshi, who scored this season s fastest goal (a 42-second strike against Olympic), is Contractors top scorer with seven league goals so far.
