CAIRO: Saudi champions Hilal have announced that AhlY ace Mohamed Abou-Trika is close to joining their ranks.

Hilal s official website issued a statement emphasizing that they are set to clinch the signing of the 30-year-old, without providing further details regarding the transfer.

The Blues are aiming to fill in a vacant spot for foreign players, as they already have Swedish winger Christian Wilhelmsson and Libyan playmaker Tarek Al-Taib.

During the past few seasons, Abou-Trika has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but AhlY were often reluctant to sell their star player.

In the same context, Abou-Trika revealed on Tuesday that he sees no reason for leaving the Cairo giants.
