Saudi Arabia captain Yasser Al-Qahtani said he would love to play for Wigan Athletic side-by-side with Egypt s Amr Zaki.

The Hilal forward is reportedly targeted by the Latics coach Steve Bruce, who seemingly wants to couple him with the Egyptian hitman upfront.

I like the idea of playing with Zaki and I hope that a deal can happen, Al Qahtani told Emirates Business.

I am open to a move. If there is a good contract, then there is no problem.

Al-Qahtani, who goes by the name of Robin Hood, has claimed the Asian Footballer of the Year award in 2007, which drew the attention of then Manchester City coach Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The Saudi star was handed a trial at the Premiership side last year, but the deal surprisingly fell through although talks were at an advanced stage.

The 26-year-old s alleged contract-related disagreements with the English club prevented him from fulfilling his dream.

There were some things on the contract that I did not like, some special points, he said.

After spending another fruitful spell with the Saudi Giants, Al-Qahtani conceded he s still keen to start a European adventure.

My ultimate ambition is to play in the Premier League, I trained in Manchester for two days and there is not much difference, he added.

They are just a little faster and more professional. I think we just have to be stronger and show more power.
