CAIRO: Zamalek keeper Mohamed Abdel-Monsef denied rumors that he missed the team s clash against Dynamos in the CAF Champions League due to malaria infection.

Abdel-Monsef suffered a strong fever upon arriving in South Africa en route to Harare, and the medical staff s initial diagnosis was malaria.

Thankfully, all medical tests confirmed that I m not infected with malaria, the keeper told FilGoal.com on Thursday.

The fever was a result of a bad cold I caught due to change of weather between Egypt and South Africa. Now I m ready to feature for the team s upcoming games.
