CAIRO: Ahli s international midfielder Ahmed Fathi has been ruled out for at least six months with an Achilles tendon injury.

The 24-year old player had to pull out of the game in the 82nd minute of the game following a harsh tackle from a Baladeya player.

Scans proved that Fathi got injured in the Achilles tendon of his left leg, Doctor Ossama Mostafa told the club s website.

The former Ismaili player is set to travel to Germany or Portugal to undergo a surgery in the next couple of days.

Fathi s injury adds to Ahli s woes as Emad Al-Nahhas, Islam Al-Shater and keeper Amir Abdul-Hamid have recently sustained injuries
