CAIRO: Al-Gaish were fortunate to avoid last year s Arab Champions League finalists ES Setif of Algeria and Faisali of Jordan in the quarter-finals group stage draw of the competition.

The Egyptian team will tackle Wydad Casablanca, USM Alger and Syrian outfit Al-Tali a, who ousted Masri recently.

Setif and Faisali will be joined by Al-Majd of Syria, in addition to the winner of Al-Merreikh-Raja Casablanca match on Saturday.

Gaish reached the last eight for the first time after beating Jordan s Al-Wehdat 2-1 on Thursday, concluding a 3-2 aggregate victory.
