CAIRO: Al Ahly accepted an offer to loan out defender Wael Gomaa to Qatari side Al-Siliya until the end of the season, a source from the Cairo club said.

An Al Ahly official said that the Reds received a $180,000 offer from the newly-promoted Qatari side to sign Gomaa on loan next January.

The source said that Al Ahly are awaiting the arrival of coach Manuel Jose from Portugal in order to take his approval for the move.

Gomaa, 32, has been consistently relegated to the bench by Jose this season, despite being a regular for Al Ahly since joining in 2001.
