Great Place to Work recognises SAS Institute as one of best 50 workplaces in Middle East

SAS’ Recognition is based on its adoption of workplace ethos focusing on employee engagement and empowerment

The leading global workplace culture authority, Great Place to Work Middle East, has for the second consecutive year chosen the SAS Institute as one of Middle East’s Best Workplaces. In 2020, about 50 organisations across the Middle East applied for recognition by the company.

Great Place to Work is the global authority on workplace culture, and aims to build a better world by helping organisations become excellent places of work for employees. The authority surveys individual organisations’ employees in order to recognise great company culture.

It helps organisations quantify their culture, and produce better business results by creating a high-trust work experience for all employees. Emprising, its SaaS-enabled culture management platform, empowers leaders with the surveys, real-time reporting, and insights they need to make data-driven people decisions.

The company uses its unparalleled benchmark data to recognise Great Place to Work-certified companies, and the Best Workplaces in the US and more than 60 other countries. This also includes Fortune’s annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For.

The SAS Institute, which specialises in analytics software and data solutions, has put in place corporate principles that embrace the right mix of innovation, creativity, inclusivity and work/life balance. With these in place, a great work environment is created that motivates employees towards cementing the company’s status as a leader in analytics.

The recognition is based on SAS’ adoption of a workplace ethos that focuses on employee engagement and empowerment. This commitment is demonstrated by the company’s continued investment in modern collaborative workspaces and attractive employee benefits.

“We are honoured to be named one of the Great Places to Work in the region, ratifying that our talented employees feel supported and challenged to reach their full potential,” said Shukri Dabaghi, SAS’ Regional Vice President for Central Europe, the Middle East and Africa (CEMEA), “The ranking confirms our continuous effort and focus on cultivating an organisational culture that emboldens and motivates creativity, and fosters a collaborative work environment where our employees can learn, grow, and prosper.”

All certified organisations were considered for the list, but the 50 Best Workplaces were selected by focusing on the trust index, survey averages along with the number of countries where the organisation is certified in the Middle East and local population.

Ibrahim Mougharbel, Managing Director at Great Place To Work, said, “We are very proud to be launching, for the first time in the region, the top 50 Middle East Best Workplaces, and in line with our 2020 strategy of recognising organisations across the region that sustain a high trust, high performing culture for employees, our objective remains to evolve the work culture in the Middle East countries and the GCC, by offering insights to leaders in order to make data-driven people decisions.”

The organisation announced that rebuilding mutual trust and creating an innovative, positive and happy workplace in these challenging times should be at the top of the agenda for organisations. It added that being a great workplace helps GCC entities quantify their culture and produce better business results.

To be considered for the list, organisations had to meet the Great Place to Work standards with a minimum score based on what employees say about their experiences of trust and ability to reach their full human potential as part of their organisation. The organisation’s place on the list is also affected by the number of countries where the organisation is certified in the Middle East and local population.
