In the mist of digital evolution and social media apps taking over the daily lives of millions around the globe, stories are told and shared in methods that were completely foreign a decade or two before. While reading a story is a common act that the majority go through without much thought, the decision to share stories that can unite many individuals around the world is currently a courageous move.

Ammanii is a jewellery brand that was incepted, when Amany Shaker, CEO and Co-founder, wished to tell genuine stories that has the ability to unite women and cross cultural boundaries. Each collection is a precious interpretation of an experience or event that took place in the designer’s life.

The LA-based brand tells stories from different countries and cultures. Every piece is a token from a moment in time or a place off shores. Based on the founder’s background in peace-building and conflict resolution, the pieces do not strive to go with the waves of temporary trends; instead, they present timeless pieces that address women of taste for art.

According to Shaker, these pieces aim to be ambassadors of peace and unity everywhere they are found around the world. The brand’s iconic designs pay homage to the founder’s Egyptian heritage and embrace bejewelled Arabian stallions as well as zircon-encrusted constellations. Furthermore, they also borrow the iconic significance of crescents and evil eyes from Middle-Eastern culture.

The pieces depend on a rainbow of precious and semi-precious stones such as carved lapis, exotic ruby jade and dazzling smokey topaz; on the other hand, Middle Eastern jewellery can never be tackled without a sufficient supply of white pearl.

After taking over the arms and ears of women in LA, the jewellery brand is expected to make its regional debut later this month through a trunk show in Cairo.
